"Circumstances (Pot-Holes) In Life"
Key Passage (I Corinthians 9:24, 25)

Circumstances, like pot-holes, pop up in our life all the time and so unexpectedly. At that time, we must decide
what action we're going to take. That "one decision" can change your life forever. The Bible says in Hebrews
13:5, "Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath
said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee." My dear brother/sister-in-Christ, whatever trouble comes your
way, the Lord Jesus Christ is here to guide you by the Holy Spirit through prayer and the Word of God. When
that time comes, don't reason with your mind(only), but seek also God's "will" in this matter. Now, lets look at
how we can handle pot-holes, that pop up in our life. As a car-driver, I know that you've seen many pot-holes
along the road at times. Do these pot-holes handle you or do you handle them?

How do pot-holes handle us, when we're driving down the road? They knock our wheel alignment out of whack
and sometimes. even bend or break a tie-rod(Which may cause us to wreck). When we allow circumstances to
handle us. its easy to see. how we lose the right direction in life. Of course, if you're not following Christ, then
you're going the wrong way!

When we handle pot-holes, we can either fill them up, cover them up or go around them. We must NOT allow
them to get us off course, because we must finish the race set before us! What race are we in, you may ask?
The Bible says in I Corinthians 9:24, 25, "Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the
prize? So run, that ye may obtain. And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now
they do it to obtain a corruptible crown, but we an incorruptible."

As a child of God, we run to receive an incorruptible crown (That we may place it at the feet of Jesus), to "Glorify
God!" The Lord Jesus Christ is the "foundation" of the building of our life (I Corinthians 3:10, 11). You choose
what type of material, that the building will be built with. Your choices are as follows: (1) The Faithful Material gold,
silver and precious stones or (2) The Unfaithful Material - hay, wood or stubble. The "faithful" material will
last, but the "unfaithful" material will be be burned up. Praise the Lord, that the Bible says in I Corinthians 3: 12-
15 (As a child of God), that even though your building was burned up, your salvation is "Safe", because of your
"Foundation" is the Lord Jesus Christ!

In closing, are you going to allow circumstances (pot-holes) to control your life(Like the wind or the waves of the
sea) or will you face them head-on and overcome these circumstances, to achieve "God's Glory" for your life? 1
urge you, to keep your "EYES ON JESUS", to find your way in the course of life and to finish the race set before
