Happy Thanksgiving Day

"HAPPY THANKSGIVING DAY!"
Key Passage: Psalms 50: 14,15

Every year in the U.S.A. , we celebrate "Thanksgiving Day" in the month of November. The first known
celebration of "Thanksgiving Day" was by the Pilgrims in 1621 . The first "Official (In the U.S.A.) Thanksgiving
Day" was ordered by the "Continental Congress"(''The United States in Congress") during the Revolutionary War
to be celebrated on November 28, 1982. This day was officially called "Thanksgiving To God Day", because of
the mercies received of God to this new nation(The U.S.A.). Today, throughout the world, there are several other
nations with a "Thanksgiving Day." Let's look at some scriptures in the Bible, promoting "Giving Thanks To God":
Psalms 50: 14,15 - "Offer unto God thanksgiving; and pay thy vows to the most High: and call upon me in the
day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me."

Psalms 100: 4- "Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and
bless his name."

Ephesians 5: 20, 21 -"Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus
Christ; submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of the God."

Colossians 3: 15 - "And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and
be ye thankful."

I praise the Lord, that the U.S.A. has an National Day of "Thanksgiving!" But as a Christian, "EVERYDAY" is
"HOLY" unto the Lord . So "Thanksgiving Day" is to be observed "Daily"(Not Just On Sunday-The Lord's Day).
The Bible speaks of "Thanksgiving" as the grace of God in Christ. operating in the "Believer (II Corinthians 9: 10-
15)." It is understood in the Bible, that all "Good" received of mankind comes from God (Matthew 19: 17). So
then, "Thanksgiving Day" primarily should be about, showing our gratitude through thanksgiving to the Lord for
all of his goodness( Grace) shown to us.

In closing, let me say, that "I can not thank the Lord enough, for all the blessings In my life, that he has given to
me!" Here's just a fraction of people, that God put Into my life, to help me bring "Glory To The Lord!": My Dad and
Mom, My Grandparents, My First Pastor (Dr. Randall Sledge). My Sunday School Teachers (Many), My Second
Pastor (Or. Steven E. Byrd-While in the military) and My Third Pastor (Dr. Roger Voegtlin- While In Bible College)
have been the "strongest spiritual influences" in my life. There are so many others, that the Lord has sent my
way, to help show me to the truth of "God's Word!" I have a list of family members and great friends, that I'm so
thankful to and the list goes on and on. I want to say to the Lord and to All, that have had a part in my life, "Thank
You From The Bottom Of My Heart!" I pray, to all that is reading this, that you will find it in your "Heart", to "Thank
God" everyday for the "Blessings Of God Given To You!" The End!!!
